The competition's flagship category, open to accordionists up to 27 in the year of the competition. This is where the largest prize of the Grand Prix is decided, and where a mature, fully realised performance is expected.
One of the pieces may be a single movement from a cyclic work. For the Baroque work, movements from Baroque suites are accepted in addition to sonatas by the old masters and polyphonic works.
Playing time: maximum 20 minutes

For the competitors who advance after Stage I (65% of competitors).
Recording deadline: 20 May 2027
At least one of the pieces must be an original work for the accordion. For the 5 to 8 competitors who advance after Stage II.
Playing time: maximum 30 minutes
Recording deadline: 15 June 2027
Every stage is recorded online, in one official recording per stage, by the deadline stated for it. The stated playing time may be exceeded by no more than 2 minutes.
Choose a programme that is fully secure. In a recording that cannot be repeated, reliability of execution weighs more than difficulty.
