Founder & Director
The Grand Prix was founded by Borko Radivojević — accordionist, composer and producer, and founder of the Balkan Music Academy. He has spent more than three decades on the instrument, and the last few years preserving and promoting the music of this region by passing on what he has learned.
Borko Radivojević — Founder and director of the Balkan Music AcademyMy goal is to open new perspectives: to establish the accordion on the map of respected international music competitions, to give young artists steady support as they make their name on the international music scene, and also to preserve the folk music of the Balkans and to keep it alive.
The Balkan Music Academy was founded out of care and love for music and for the accordion, not out of ambition: so that the music of Serbia and of the wider Balkans is passed on by its own recognisable method, from one generation to the next, with the chain of knowledge growing stronger with every new generation — wherever in the world that generation grows up. The Academy opens new possibilities for its students by following today's digital tendencies: online, for everyone, anywhere.
The competition we are organising for the first time in this format is part of that same idea: a stage that is easier and faster to reach, where a participant — in Europe, in Asia or in the Americas — is judged online by an expert jury, without their name ever being given.
The competition is the part you can enter. Applications are open to participants from all countries.
Entries close on 2 May 2027.
