What is collected, why it is needed, and how long it is kept.
Name, date of birth, country, email address and phone number; the full name of the teacher; the identity document, the photograph and, for participants under 18, the parental consent uploaded with the application; the programme; the payment record; and the official recordings.
To confirm eligibility for the category applied for, to match the payment to the application, to allow the jury to evaluate the performance anonymously, and to publish the results. Data is not sold and is not used for advertising.
Identity documents and parental consents are stored in a private bucket that only the organiser can open, through links that expire within about a minute. Every access is logged. These documents are never shown to the jury.
For subscribers to the mailing list, the organiser holds what was entered on that page: name, email address, country, whether the subscriber teaches or plays, and, if given, the school or academy, the year of birth, the categories of interest and the message. The link through which the page was reached is also recorded, so that the organiser knows which announcement reached the subscriber. This data is used only to plan the competition and to write when applications open. It is not sold or passed on. A request to the address on the contact page is sufficient for the entry to be deleted.
Account data is held in a managed Postgres database in the EU. Recordings are held in object storage. Card payments will be handled by Stripe, which is not yet live; the organiser never sees or stores card details.
You may request a copy of your data, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted after the competition closes. Write to the address on the contact page; the organiser will answer within 30 days.
