Rules of the competition

1. 1.1The competition is open to pupils, to students of music conservatoires and academies, and to their graduates, regardless of nationality or religion.
2. 1.2By applying, participants accept the conditions of the competition: these Rules, the scoring system, and the decisions of the jury as final.
3. 1.3Participants are not entitled to any fee or compensation from the organiser for recordings of their performances that the organiser publishes.

1. 2.1All performances are watched and scored by an international jury of distinguished concert performers and renowned music teachers.
2. 2.2The decisions of the jury are final and cannot be appealed.
3. 2.3When the results are announced, the marks of every jury member are made public.

1. 3.1Registration for the 2027 edition of the World Grand Prix opens on 1 March 2027.
2. 3.2The application form must state the competitor's full name, their country, and the full name of their teacher. It must also give complete programme details: for each piece, the composer, the title and the duration, listed in the exact order of performance.
3. 3.3A photograph of the competitor must be submitted with the application.

1. 4.1Recordings must be submitted no later than the following dates:

1. 5.1The entry fee is €200 in every category, charged in euros. Recording is unlocked once the organiser has confirmed the payment.
2. 5.2The entry fee is not refunded if a competitor withdraws from the competition after applying.

Principles

1. 6.1Jury members must apply a consistent standard when scoring all competitors.
2. 6.2A jury member does not score a competitor whom they teach or to whom they are related.
3. 6.3A jury member may score competitors from their own country.
4. 6.4Marks are given as a number with two decimal places, for example 87.45. No rounding is required, which allows the most precise and objective scoring possible.
5. 6.5Once the first three competitors have been scored, the jury members align their scoring criteria to establish a common level of marks.
6. 6.6Apart from this alignment, jury members may not exchange opinions about competitors until the results are published.
7. 6.7After applications close, the organiser sets the order in which recordings are sent to the jury. The order is alphabetical and is set separately for each category and stage.

Calculating the mark

1. 6.8For each competitor, the highest mark is removed. If more than one jury member gives the same highest mark, only one of those marks is removed.
2. 6.9The lowest mark is removed in the same way. If more than one jury member gives the same lowest mark, only one of those marks is removed.
3. 6.10The remaining marks are added together and divided by the number of remaining marks. The result is the competitor's mark for that stage.

Stages and the final score

1. 6.11Junior. All competitors advance to Stage II. The final score is the sum of the Stage I and Stage II marks, divided by two.
2. 6.12Senior. After Stage I, the list of competitors advancing to Stage II is published (65% of competitors). After Stage II, the list of the 5 to 8 competitors who will perform in Stage III is published.
3. 6.13The Senior final score is the sum of the marks from all stages, divided by three. For a competitor who did not reach Stage III, the sum is divided by two; for one who did not reach Stage II, by one. After the final stage, the marks of every jury member for each of the three stages are published separately.

Verification

1. 6.14The organiser calculates the final mark for every stage of every category. All marks given by the jury members are reviewed.
2. 6.15The results become final once the list of points for all competitors has been signed by the President of the Jury and by the other jury members.

1. 7.1Jury members award marks from 70.00 to 100.00 points. Prizes are awarded according to the final score:

1. 7.2In all categories, the first three places cannot be shared (no ex aequo). If two or more competitors have the same score, the younger competitor takes precedence.
2. 7.3Every competitor receives a diploma. In the Senior category, competitors who do not advance to Stage II or Stage III receive a diploma of participation.

1. 8.1The total prize fund is €50,000. The prizes of each category are listed in full on its page at worldgrandprix.org.
2. 8.2Prizes by category:

1. 8.3The winner of each category also records the competition programme at BR Music Studio in Belgrade, as a guest of the organiser, with travel and accommodation provided.

1. 9.1The final results of each category and stage are published no later than seven (7) days after its submission deadline, once the jury has watched all the recordings.
2. 9.2The final results of all categories are announced in a dedicated live stream. They are also published on the competition website, worldgrandprix.org, and on the organiser's social media: Instagram and Facebook (@worldgrandprix.online).
3. 9.3Within this seven-day period, the exact date and time of each announcement will be published in advance on the competition website and social media.
